A man with a passion for life
Jean-Claude Branchaud had a passion for life and he was wholly committed to his business that he always wanted to grow bigger and greater, so to better serve the community. He was an idealist... pursuing his dreams with courage and determination.
In 1996, he would undertake his greatest endeavor, one that he dreamt about his whole life: to establish a non-profit organization to help the community, especially aimed at the young generation, these kids that he always cheerfully looked upon with fatherly love.
Goals and activities
On June 11th, 1998, the "Fondation Jean-Claude Branchaud" is officially founded. Its goals are twofold: to aid and support the young generation both on the sports and cultural levels, by donating money to acquire equipments and buildings; and also to aid and support the community, by helping other organizations acquire assets aimed at serving the whole community.
The Fondation is sponsored through many public events - such as the yearly golf tournament that has become since a major gathering - but also many different shows, fund-raising campaigns and recently, a highly praised wine and cheese evening.
One of the Fondation’s highest success was certainly the extraordinary fund-raising campaign in 2001 to help equip the region with a medical CT-Scan. A big lottery with a $45,000 value first prize was organized and at the end of the event, no less than $100,000 were donated to the Maniwaki Hospital. Quite an outstanding achievement!
